Is Your Child Growing Normally?

A mother is naturally concerned as to whether her child is growing normally as compared to other children his or her age. Eating habits can and do contribute to a child's growth rate for example a picky child would not grow as much as one who eats anything. However, not being careful in the latter case may result in the child being overweight. It is therefore important for the parents to monitor a child's food intake - not insufficient nor over-eating.

It is important to monitor your child’s weight and height regularly to assess if he is receiving the right nutrition to grow and develop well.

Growth charts enable parents to track their children’s growth and monitor how they are growing in relation to other children in the same age group. By using a growth chart to plot your child’s growth, you can detect under-nutrition, overweight and obesity, and other growth-related conditions and address them at an early stage.
